Privacy notice

Last updated: 30 August 2026

This notice explains how Basil Web Development handles personal information submitted through this website.

Information collected

The enquiry form may collect your name, email address, phone number, company name, project information and any file you choose to attach. Basic technical server logs may also contain your IP address, browser information and the time of your visit.

Why it is used

Information is used to respond to enquiries, prepare proposals, provide requested services, prevent spam and maintain website security. The usual legal bases are taking steps at your request before entering a contract, performing a contract, and legitimate interests in operating and protecting the business.

Storage and sharing

Enquiries are delivered through the configured email provider. Purchase details and project briefs submitted through the pricing page are passed to Stripe to create and manage secure checkout. Card details are entered directly with Stripe and do not pass through this website. Attachments are stored temporarily while the email is sent and are then deleted from the web server. Information is not sold. It may be shared with service providers only where needed to operate the website or deliver the requested service.

Retention

Enquiry information should be kept only as long as needed to respond, manage a potential or active client relationship, meet legal obligations, and resolve disputes. Unsuccessful temporary uploads are not intended to be retained.

Your rights

Depending on UK data-protection law, you may have rights to access, correct, erase, restrict or object to the use of your information, and to request a portable copy. You may also complain to the UK Information Commissioner's Office.
